Ambassador Lunch and Learn—Legal Issues of the Day*: Immigration Enforcement: When Does Lawful Protesting Cross the Line? First and Second Amendment Considerations
"Can they do that?” Legal professionals are getting questions—or perhaps they are even wondering themselves—as federal immigration authorities have become more visible, frequent, and forceful presences in local communities. This one-hour virtual lunch-and-learn session will focus on immigration enforcement and the related question: When does lawful protesting cross the line? Our panel of all-stars will discuss issues related to First Amendment and Second Amendment rights such as: What have courts held to be protected forms of protest? What crosses the line, and does it matter if a protester is carrying a registered firearm? How can lawyers be Legal Observers in the moment? to the start of the event. For in-person registrations, tuition fees may be refunded, less $25 for processing, for written cancellations
postmarked, emailed, or faxed by 5 p.m. up to three business days before the event. No refunds will be provided after the dates specified. You
may also send a substitute in lieu of canceling.
