Comic Book Contract Negotiation and Drafting Practicum 2019 (March 2019)

  • VIDEO

Due to overwhelming response to last year's practicum, we're bringing it back for a second year with new exercises and new hypotheticals! Learn about this growing practice area from legal practitioners, comic book creators, and former comic book publishing executives.

This second CLE workshop teaches practice skills in comic book legal practice. Do a deep-dive into the three agreements every lawyer must know when representing a comic book creator: the artist services agreement, the comic book publishing agreement, and the motion picture option/purchase agreement. Facilitated by seasoned comic book publishing attorneys, you will get a change to issue-spot and practice short drafting assignments. An optional short assignment may be completed prior watching this video for an additional 0.50 Law and Legal Procedure credits.

The information taught in the first CLE workshop is incorporated into this hands-on negotiation and drafting practicum. Each workshop may be taken individually, but the organizers recommend both be taken for maximum exposure to the subject matter. To purchase part one of this workshop click here.
