This session covers a variety of important Washington and federal employment law developments that in-house counsel should be aware of. Topics will include Washington updates such as the new limits on pre-employment cannabis testing going into effect in January, the recent wave of litigation over job posting pay transparency requirements under the Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, and restrictions on confidentiality and non-disparagement agreements under the Silenced No More Act. This will also cover federal law developments including the Department of Labor’s proposed increase to the salary basis for exemption from overtime pay, the latest trends out of the National Labor Relations Board, and the Supreme Court’s recent decision on religious accommodations under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
