Covering the more common ethical issues that crop up in employment law cases. These include ex parte communication with current and former employees (WRPC 4.2, RPC 4.3, and Wright v. Group Health Hospital, 103 Wn.2d 192, 691 P.2d 564 (1984)), immigration status (RPC 4,4), and what to do with employees obtaining “self discovery” from their employer (RPC 1.6, RPC 3.4). Time permitting, we will also cover scope of representation issues (RPC 1.2(a)) and ethical issues in employment class actions (RPC 4.1, RPC 4.2, RPC 4.3, RPC 4.4).
