Pressing Civil Rights issues are all around us, and we, and our clients, are facing critical challenges – both new and continuing. This CLE program will focus on the role of enforcement entities at the State and Federal level and the work they do to protect civil rights, the common civil rights complaints their offices encounter and the elements of resolution agreements, and the role of civil rights practitioners in those processes. The CLE will showcase a range of enforcement issues. Topics covered will include race and national origin discrimination, disability access, and issues facing transgender youth, as well as other civil rights issues. Attendees with gain valuable insight into the work of four agencies tasked with defending Civil Rights, the legal standards applicable in enforcement activities, how civil rights practitioners can engage with these processes, and will leave with a broader understanding of this critical area of law.
