The Low Bono Section is a community for legal professionals, law students, and others who are committed to providing, promoting, and learning about low bono services. The underlying purpose of "low bono" is to increase the availability of legal representation and legal services to clients of moderate means. Clients of moderate means are individuals who have a need or a want for legal representation or legal services, but who cannot qualify for pro bono legal assistance and who typically cannot afford the cost of traditional law firm representation or legal services.

The Section provides benefits to members by developing and providing resources with the intent to increase accessibility of legal services for people of moderate financial means. The Section develops "best practices" and "alternative practices" to encourage competent, current, efficient, and economical professional services while being mindful of the clients’ moderate means. The Section also supports a mentorship program and provides a forum and opportunity for education, training, and sharing of forms, practice tips, client counseling techniques, alternative conflict resolution approaches, and other resources to members.

For more information on the many benefits of section membership, see the Low Bono Section website. For general questions, please e-mail inquiries to sections@wsba.org.
