This presentation will provide an overview of criminal jurisdiction in Indian country with a focus on the allocation of investigatory and prosecutorial authority between tribal, federal, and state governments over crimes perpetrated on Indian lands. This presentation will also include an introduction to the civil regulatory and adjudicatory authority tribal and state governments possess over matters involving Tribal parties, property, and interests in Washington State.
