Family law lawyers are trauma workers: every client is having a substantial traumatic experience for which the apparent solution is through the legal system. Working with other people’s trauma will expose you to experiencing vicarious trauma. In this CLE, learn to mitigate and manage the impact of vicarious trauma by: (1) Improving time management and productivity to reduce stress and make time for wellness, rest and self-care; (2) Making your law practice easier to manage and more enjoyable; and, (3) Reducing conflict for clients by learning about trauma responses, attachment and conflict dynamics.
