This seminar will:

  • Discuss the nuances of advising commanders on legal issues that implicate the law of war, and other due process tenants of military law.
  • Focus on deftly using legal resources to accurately administer the applicable legal frameworks to create a persuasively sound legal conclusion that meaningfully incorporates or at least acknowledges dissenting views and/or arguments.
  • Examine lessons learned from prior investigations, and embrace scenarios that may occur that impinge ethical, legal and moral dilemmas for judge advocates that have been tasked to competently advise the command about profoundly important issues that could have an enduring impact on military justice.
