Developed in partnership with the WSBA Labor and Employment Law Section

This session will address a new state law that expands protections for job applicants and employees with criminal records. It applies to all employers and has staggered effective dates for 15+ and smaller employers. The CLE will cover when employers may do background checks, the process they must use if the background check shows a criminal conviction, criminal records that cannot be considered, and exemptions from the law.
