While lawyers know that their conduct must align with the Rules of Professional Conduct, they may not pay such close attention to the actions of those they supervise. This program will take a deep dive into the responsibilities of a supervising lawyer when it comes to overseeing other attorneys or non-attorney staff members. Specifically, we'll look at the supervising lawyer's duties under the following RPCs: 1,5, 1.6, 1.9, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, and 5.10. Topics covered will include confidentiality, fair billing, duties to former clients, and how to insure your employee is not putting you in danger of a Bar complaint -- or worse.
