Presented in partnership with the WSBA World Peace Through Law Section; sponsored in part by the WSBA International Practice Section and in collaboration with the American Bar Association's International Law Division

Climate change has emerged as an existential challenge to humankind. Growing awareness is being brought to the plight of people around the world who are displaced and migrate due to climate change’s effects.

This one-day CLE, presented by the Washington State Bar Association’s World Peace through Law Section, and in collaboration with the American Bar Association’s International Law Division, seeks to explore the issue of climate displacement and migration through different lenses. The CLE program will highlight the impacts on communities by addressing the issues faced by indigenous peoples and persons displaced by natural disasters, as well as the options available to them to adapt to situations and circumstances involving climate change. The program will also provide guidance to lawyers on pro bono opportunities for becoming proactive to assist those who are displaced and migrate due to the effects of climate change.
